Worship Committee

The Worship Ministry is a one of the working committees of the Session of Grove Presbyterian Church.

The Mission of the Worship Ministry is:

    To guide the congregation in giving thankful praise to God and to help lead people in exalting Christ.

Work of the Worship Committee

The Worship Ministry of Grove Presbyterian Church includes a Worship Planning Team and a Team of Congregational Members . The Ministry oversees Sunday church services, coordinates music and hymns, and assists in the planning of special worship programs throughout the Church Year including Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter.

Planning and Congregational Teams

The Planning Team Members are the: Pastor, Current Elder Chair, Choir Director, and Two Representatives from the Congregation at Large. They meet a minimum of two times a year with the Elder Chair and the Choir Director meeting separately with the Pastor, when needed, for the purpose of implementing the details of worship.

The Congregational Team Members are divided into various responsibility groups for the purpose of enhancing Worship. Examples are Coordinators for: Seasonal Sanctuary Flowers; Weekly Flowers; Liturgists for Worship; Cleaning and upkeep of Communion Linens; Usher Teams; changing of the Liturgical Paraments ; changing of Seasonal Banners; Sanctuary clean up; Sanctuary/Church Christmas Decorating; Care and use of the sound system, , carillon and bells; and Support of Weddings and Funerals.
